Well finally the 1850's gave me some hope to hang onto..... found this 1902 IHP there.... It came out looking beautiful with green patina... but I had to be a dummy and peroxide clean it now you can see the pits all over it and the liberty is very hard to read now..... oh well maybe i'll learn next time! :(..... found this nice little pocket watch.. my first one so thats pretty neat!!! :hello2: also found this whatzit.... for some reason it rings a bell in my head... i'm thinking something civil war but I could be wrong... the rope is about 4 feet in length? Any ideas guys? Thanks and enjoy! HH

looks like some sort of weight used for fishing, Being on the line, originally might have been a hook line with the weigth to hold it down.
