I was detecting the woods today and found this dog tax tag under a root by a tree. I dug about 6 inches down on one side of the root and pushed the digger down on the outher side and pushed that dirt under the root.

I got to say I'm pleased with this find.

Very cool, Roger! I dug a 1934 Minneapolis dog license about a week ago. I've never seen a dog "tax" tag.

Good one.

Thanks WIT. this is a Quarry Hill find. The first dog tax I got from there was 1946. Dog tax license tag.

Very collectible! Look on EBAY if you would like to sell. I sold one a couple years ago from 1932, for $65.

Thanks diggummup. I've been looking for an old dog license for years.

Thanks hogge. I know a collecter . # 199= $199.00

Congrats on the nice old dog tag! In nice shape for over 100 years old and good job keeping that way, getting finds out of roots can be a little tricky.

An 1896 dog license is more collectable than the one I found. The more fancier they are the more ther worth.
