FWIW... I bought a 16-D about a month ago, paid $200 for it...It just got certified as a AG3....value of about $500...
Got an offer already from a guy in my local coin club, told me $850....
I don't even have it in my possession yet, my local dealer has it, will be picking it up next week...

$850 offer on an AG3? Sell, run away and never look back. If this buyer wants more, I'll buy them on eBay and sell him as many as he wants for $850!

I'm very happy for you! (If you're selling that is). But, I wasn't saying that a 16-d was worthless. Just that if you have to count how many atoms are left in the mint mark in order to determine. There absolutely WOULD be SOMEbody who will pay big for it! Just, not real likely and not many.

That was funny... Haha... I only paid a few dollars for the ones i had/have. Less than ten bucks for all 3, but it took me a while to find them for that... Dumb luck i guess, also got and 1895 O dime for a dollar as well. I bought that as a type, didnt know it was a good date till a good while later. That was when i was learning, and i believe possible THE very coin that sunk a hook in me....

No plans on selling...yet.
Someday...when my wife and I are old and gray, and need some flow....maybe...

I'll post a pic next week, I can't wait to see it in its shiney slab...
