I decided to forgo my usual yard hunt and head to a near by park. Wow am I glad I did. I found about 70 cents in clad, a broken cap gun, a marble, (I found the marble and cap gun in the same hole.) A JJJ 1960's lighter, a Old Navy dog tag, a 1955 wheat penny, and the very last find of the night, a 1916 Merc. This is amazing, I found a 1945 just yesterday.

Isn't that just fascinating? Look at how many have said "D" in the responses, ALREADY!

Is it a "D" ?
Is it a "D" ?
Is it a "D" ?
Is it a "D" ?
Is it a "D" ?
Is it a "D" ?

There, I've added mine.

But, WHY oh WHY do we badger a poster!

If it is, will that change the world somehow?

Pics?
Where?
How?
VDI?
Is it a "D" ?

:tongue3:

Sorry everyone but in my excitement I neglected to check for the mint mark but unfortunately it does not have one, making it a Philadelphia minted coin. Thanks for looking and happy hunting to all.

Quite possibly the most disappointing coin to find. :p That is if silver dimes can be disappointing.

Nice old Merc! :hello2: I've dug only one in 4 years detecting & yours is about 30 years older than mine - I'd take it! :icon_thumright: Andi

It appears to be in nice condition. Clean it in an ultasonic. Dont rub it or use silver polish!

From that pic I am not sure you could get a grade.. Take another really clean picture of both sides. More than likely being a dug coin will limit what it as far as being graded.

That would be the best I can do with my phone. It doesn't have a very good camera on it.
