Over the years I have found many wheat cents, including some better dates. I figure that I have found about ten 1922-D cents.
In 1922 the US mint at Philadelphia did not issue a 1 cent coin. They were all minted in Denver that year. The rare 1922 "no D" cent is the result of a clogged die, which made the D become weaker until no D could be discernable
The following pics were some of the 1922 cents that I found showing the progression of a strong D to no D. I have used a 10X loupe and was unable to see any sign of a mintmark on one of these cents.
You be the judge.

Thanks Snee,
All of the coins that I've posted have been dug by myself. But I have been detecting for about 33 years. All of these coins were found during that time. Believe me, I have had some pretty lean days too.

Thanks for the info! Is this true with other modern coins?

Keep @ it and HH!!

Great coins bk!! mud, there are alot of errors like this still around if you look hard enough ;) these errors are very similar to filled die errors.
