I've searched this field 5-6 times over the past few months and it seems like each hunt produces at least one decent find. It was just starting to rain at the end of my hunt yesterday and I was about to call it quits when I got a 12-44 on the etrac. This well worn Standing Liberty was only about 4" down in soft dirt, making for a quick and easy recovery!
So far out there I've come up with this SLQ, 2 silver Washingtons, a 1937 merc, a 1914 Barber quarter, a 1900 Liberty V nickel, a dozen or so wheats and two small gold chains. The field might look like a flat field of wild grass, but old maps and photos show right where two baseball fields and a track used to be.
Thanks for looking and good luck out there!
