1934, 1943, 1953 Wheat Cents

Can anyone explain why the "3" on a 1934,1943 and 1953 Wheat Cent is different than on any other Wheat Cent??

This has been bugging me for oh,.....about 30 years.......so no rush on the replies....

Good question! The engravers seemed to have issues with 3's. The 1943 nickel has a different 3 than every other year. We need answers people!
