1940 Jefferson Nickel

I had a friend give me a MS 1940 Jefferson since he knows I bank roll hunt and metal detect. It has 3 steps on the back. And has some really nice luster and toning. What would a appropiate value be for this

Each of the 1940s (P-D or S) is retail valued at $6 or less in MS-65 condition (per the 2012 Red Book). You may wish to look at the Completed Transactions section of Ebay to see what similar coins have sold for. Yes,UNC pieces with fully struck steps have higher value.
