Welcome to T-net!! I'm sorry to say your penny is not in collectable condition and even in fine condition would likely be under a dollar. There are still plenty of wheat pennies around and 1941 isn't a particularly rare year.

Hold on to it. The price of copper isn’t going down. Collect any and all you get. Good luck.

in that condition it's only worth melt value which is approximately 2 1/2 cents

Looks like 1941 Plane (no mint mark) There were 887,039,100 minted. Today in "Good" condition, value would be listed at 0.10 cents, and the one you have looks pitted, so... no matter, buy a couple of penny books, and begin collecting the wheat penny's you find, starting with yours, when you find another 1941 in better condition, trade em' out. I think there are about 140 different "wheaties" out there, minted from 1909 to 1958. It's a goal, you gotta start somewhere, and you have. Good luck to you bryhurfav (When I said about 140 different wheat back's, I was referring to Mint marks. Like 1948, 1948D and 1948S)

You might luck out and get a buck or two on eBay.
