1942 Mercury dime ~ two '45-S War nickels ~ 1959 Rosie dime ~ Sterling buckle
Mike & I went detecting for several hours today ~ we met Ron later in the day. It was great to see Mike dig a Merc dime & an Indian Head cent! After Mike & I left Ron calls me and tells me that he's dug another Barber Quarter!!
Here's what I dug today:
1942-S Mercury Dime
1959-D Silver Rosie 10c
two 1945-S War nickels
1947-S Jefferson 5c
6 wheats ~ '37-s, '38-s, '41-s, '44-s, '44-d, 48-s
48 Memorial cents
2 nickels
7 clad 10c's
4 clad 25c's
blank or "slug"
Small "STERLING" Silver buckel
1951 Oregon License plate exp. tag
1957 Oregon License plate exp. tag
I think much of the little buckle when I found it today ~ but when I got home and cleaned it up I saw "STERLING"!! SCORE!!!
And the blank disk is kind of a mystery ~ it's just a touch bigger in diameter than a US nickel, but only about 2/3rd's as thick. It's totally blank ~ maybe a token blank, or a foreign coin blank, or a "SLUG"?
Thanks for looking!
Neil
