Haha yea I offered her 20 bucks just to be nice when I seen how offended she got and she never responded. Guess she thought someone would bite on it. Thing is she doesn't realize if someone is going to see a coin for sale and talk to u about it, they probably have a general idea of its value.

You handled her well! :occasion14:

Heck I can’t see your comments. That newer 1918 wheat penny I found last night was either mixed with some sort of solder from the lead plumbing or screwed up somehow from something else, because it still looks like a steel cent. I don’t know, but I wish we wouldn’t get in trouble being out there after dark

She must have thought that penny was worth millions and your trying to keep her down. How dare you Im no fool lol for not taking the 20 she was.

Haha. I don’t even get on letgo hardly anymore, or craigslist. I posted a camera on CL the other night before bed(huge mistake). I had so many spam texts about it that it kept me up almost half the night.

What is the issue with detecting in the dark. I always ask my permissions to also hunt at night - both of my detecting partners have kids and can only hunt nights or early weekends. Granted, I normally only hunt fields.

That’s the difference. Hunting fields we do at night, and several other locations we hunt at night. This one was downtown, in a area where we were ok during the day because the police could see us, but being as the buildings were wide open, and where we were detecting was on the shady side of town, we decided to wait till it was daylight again. Least then the police couldn’t say we were trespassing in the old buildings, or afraid we’d tear something up, hurt ourselves. Basically whatever a cop can say to fit his narrative to find a way for a citation or more. We just avoided that situation all together, and chose to hunt it during the day that way they could plainly see where we were, and didn’t have to ask what we were doing cause they could see us detecting in the broad daylight if they drove by. Had they gone by at nighttime, and seen my car parked where it was at they would have investigated it as a “possible break in”, or “theft”.

Trust me when I tell you I know how they think because I was one for about 8 years, and it’s only gotten worse since I left.

For $20 a pop per '43 steelie, you can be nice to me all you want! :laughing7:

Haha yea sad thing i i was trying to help someone out in need and little did she realize i knew it wasnt work anything haha. Funny how people think they can pull that over on others

By coincidence I pulled one out of my pocket change last month. A little more worn than the "letgo" image but still Fine-12.

I have about a dozen just like it is anyone wants a crack at 'em for even $2,000!

Man I'd honestly give u 2100 if u they are that good of condition lol

It’s hard to please some folks. Best of luck!

Your offer of $1.50 was MORE than generous. Most people have no idea what a coin is really worth and it's human nature to think that what they have is SUPER valuable. It's how so many unknowing people get sucked into buying overpriced junk on those home shopping shows that sell coins.
