Bought this from a guy that was selling his coins, he told me this 1945 half was 2 dollars, I gave him 5 so I didn't feel bad that he didn't know, I was looking at all the coins I bought from him and noticed this one has a strange mark on it. Notice the "w" after the dollar. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Check the weight, and make sure it doesn't stick to a magnet. He may have got the better deal.

Yup, sure is. Thanks, I should have looked it up online haha.

It looks like there is some damage on the right side. That is going to affect the value.
I'd estimate the coin is worth about $8.

He's it does look like that is the picture but it's actually the light reflecting off the plastic

Would need to see front and back to estimate value. But at silver melt it is worth $8.00. It appears to be in pretty good condition so probably worth a bit more.

I quoted myself...

Looks like you got a great deal NBT!
By the way, I will buy Walkers like that all day long at melt. So...could someone please tell me where?

Try a pawn shop and ask if they sell junk silver. You can get good deal at mom and pop shops

I sure wish that was the case here. The pawn shops in my area do not deal in silver or gold coins, they tell me it's because of the volitality of the market. I've been buying for over five years now, and the local shops get between 10-20% premiums over melt, and have no trouble moving the metal. Always wanted to open my own shop, my buddy did, and he paid the best prices in the area, but business trickled down to nothing after the prices tanked.
