1948 Dog Tax tag, 1927 Merc dime, 1960 Rosie dime, & 1945 War nickel

Hello!

Got out today for a few hours with my good buddy Ron to do some detecting ~ we met up not too far from the University of Oregon. Didn't do too bad for hunting areas that have been hit hard over the last several years. 1948 Lane County Oregon Dog Tax tag, 1927-D Mercury dime, 1960-D Rosie dime, 1945-S War nickel, 6 wheats dating from 1930 to 1953, and a little bit of clad.

I'm especially excited over the Dog Tax tag . . . . this the first one I've dug in a long time. . . . . and I've recently started buying old dog tax tags and old dog license tags to collect as a hobby. It's a very fun hobby! And I've recently joined ISALC (International Society of Animal License Collectors) . . . . and I bought Bill Bones' book U.S. DOG LICENSE TAGS. It's a mazing hom many pre-1900 tags there are out there! Too bad I haven't found any. . . . YET!

Thanks for looking!
Neil

Nice going! I found a 1948 San Francisco dog tag. It's my oldest.

Thanks man!

Nice find on the San Fran tag! I own a few old San Fran tags (bought 'em, didn't dig 'em). They made some neat looking tags!

I'm hoping to take a trip down that way soon. My son is moving to the Richmond / El Cerrito area next week. I want to go detecting down in that area!

;^)

Nice silver and dog tag. I like finding those as well and have sold some early 1900's tags to a collector. Haven't broke into the 1800's yet either.
