I was born in the late 40s and grew up in the 50s and I NEVER heard or read such a crock of crap. There were a lot of id-iot psychologist preaching all sorts of baloney and that's what brought in the increasing divorce rate when so many weak minded women actually BELIEVED their sh--. I taught my daughters to prepare themselves with education and training so that they can be able to support themselves and not have to depend on ANY hairy-legged dudes.

I guess I'm not a "good wife"....LOL.... but I got a "good hubby", he cooks great, does laundry and still takes out the trash!

We would not fit in during the 50's if we were expected to live by those rules!

As for my kids, taught my daughter how to fend for herself and NOT depend on any man. And as for my boys, they to, learn to sew, cook, clean, laundry, etc. I don't want them depending on any woman.

I actually found that quite humorous and can't believe WOMEN believed that crap or that MEN expected that! LOL

I'm gonna touch off some serious nerves here, but am I the only one that thinks there seems to be a relationship between the loss of this kind of "household order" and the general breakdown of family values and societal morals ?

I'm not going to say that I think it was 100% right, but we sure seem to have lost a LOT since the 50's............................................

how were they supposed to be "happy" after all that crap?? Call me crazy but i always help my wife with the kids,cooking,cleaning,laundry, dishes etc. and i consider myself "old fashioned" even at the age of 31.... i guess they dint believe in "equality" back then...
