1967 SMS Half?

Today I picked up $50 in halves at the bank. I pulled a '68 and a '67. The '67 is really shiney, almost like a proof. Could this be from a SMS? I wish I could post pics but I can't. If I had just been edge searching I would have missed it. You can see the copper in it. It has the beginning of some toneing around the edges. Is it worth anything more than melt? Thanks.

sounds like SMS to me probrably not worth more then melt unfortunately.

probly is an SMS. I have only found a few of them over the years, and they do look like a proof, without that frosty look. They do look very shiny.

People also plate halves...does it have the circular mint luster?

If you can't spot it by edge checking, then it most likely is not a SMS. SMS are shiny with wide sharp edge.
