Hey all I found this penny and wondering what it's worth? 20180614_230112-1.webp20180614_225718.webp

My guess is a penny. It looks like it was glued down to something. but someone with exact knowledge will chime in here.....

I hope so... cuz I've never seen a penny like this...and as for glue I have a 50x jewelers loupe and that is not just glue on the top there's actual raised lines in it as well as the imprint is messed up

Put in acetone for about 48 hours. That will soften most glues and plastics. When you have done that, let us know the results.

You could take it to a professional coin dealer with experience in errors and damage.

Time for more coffee.

I would say definitely glue. There also appears to be damage to the coin where someone tried to chip it off. Like Galenrog says, soak it in acetone. My guess is that it will all melt off.

Probably fell off some guys car. :tongue3:

Somebody with a late 1940's or early 1950's Pontiac Chieftan had too much time on their hands and a lot of pennies that they didn't know what to do with.:icon_scratch:

Ya, how to ruin a car in 10,000 easy steps, well not easy but...eh.
