1973 D proof Half ? Pics ADDED

Hey friends,

I crh'ed some halves a week ago and found a 1973 D Half. Sounds normal right? Its not it looks like it is stamped on a proof blank. Same shinyness, but its not cameo at all. Is that valuable? Never seen it before.

probably just a nice strike, waiting for the pics, my understanding is only -S- marks are proofs.

To me it sorta looks plated, though it could just be the picture

Either way its a nice looking coin But as far as I'm aware the Denver mint wouldn't have the technology to make proofs, it could just be a really nice coin, either way, I'd stick that in a 2x2

Actually I looked at the sides and I don't bellieve it is. Also I believe the pictures aren't as shiny as the coin really is.

it does look rather shinny. Someone else posted earlier today finding a '74 half that looks silver plated with a silver rim. I'd say it's worth keeping at least till you can get some expert opinions on it and if nothing else just keeping as a novelty coin.

It is chrome plated. A proof refers to the strike of a coin. They use different dies, but the same planchets.

Well, it is worth 50 cents. It is after-market trash that marketers sell to insomniacs with too much money and not enough sense.

you could throw it on feebay and someone might buy it for a premium. you never know lol. looks plated to me as well

1) Definitely plated After market
2) definitely not a proof. Not the same tyo eof shininess, and the frosting is on ALL proofs of that age.
