1982d penny weight?

I know a copper penny weighs 3.1g and Zinc weighs 2.5 . I have one 1982d penny that weighs 2.5 and one that weighs. 3.1. Question Is it normal to have the diffrent weights on the 1982d because of the transition.

they made both that year, should be able to visually determine the difference between the two.

There are also 7 varieties of small/large date 1982's: Copper large date P, copper small date P, copper large date D, zinc large date P, zinc small date P, zinc large date D and zinc small date D.
