It was about 25 degrees when I left the house, but after about three hours it warmed up enough that my toes were not freezing anymore so I made a day out of it. To bad I didn't stop and dig one more penny. Clad was 32 quarters, 43 dimes, 29 nickels, and 93 pennies. Pulled one silver Rosie and a wheat cent. All the jewelry was bling. Couple of coin spills.

This was last Sunday's hunt in a pasture, hunted a old home site. Actually looking for a old one room schoolhouse but the owner mentioned that this was here so when I was striking out on the schoolhouse I tried it. One Merc and a few wheats. Couple of Tootsie cars. The Jaguar was neat, I remember having that same car when I was a kid.

That's a lot of quarters! Your dedication is impressive! That had to be a long time in the cold!

That's some serious digging. Conrats on the succes and the silver score.

That's a lot of coins for a days dig. Congrats.

Yep, approx 1 to 200 return of silver. Sounds like a pretty typical average. They do seem to hide really well don't they.

Excellent hunt!

OMG your a digging machine

The ground was soft, so my knees are good, but my thighs and butt are a different story.

North and a little west of Louisville. Easiest reference is if you go down I65 to exit 29 (Scottsburg) go west about 20 miles on 56 and you're there.

Coveralls helped keep me warm, and decent when my jeans split from my crotch to my knee.

Yeah, about 8 inches down. Ground is about perfect so it rang in beautifully.

Wow I need to get a good day of detecting in. Haven't done any serious detecting in a month. Going crazy lol. That sure is a lot of digging for one day.

WOW, I'd be so sore if I had dug that much. My hands and wrist are getting old. I hope they hold out a few more years. 32 years of roofing put some hard miles. I feel it every time out. You are a beast, digging machine!
Nice finds.

That is a lot of clad, too bad you did not get one more penny! You must must have been tired after all of that digging, some of the jewelry is also kinda cool.

Coinman123,

If that's all the trash you got from all that digging, that's one hell of a great trash to coin ratio. We are a weird bunch aren't we? To get so excited over recovering 15+ - dollars...

Congrats on your Rosie and ton of finds! Nice amount of jewelry too!
Penny spills see to be on the rise!
