19th/18th c. shoe buckle?

I believe I found a shoe buckle (others have commented it may be a knee or breeches buckle)...its very complete and sturdy which leads me to believe it may be 19c. and not 18c...any thoughts? Looked for similar ones but cannot find pictures!

I think because it is very sturdy that it is likely 18th century. Replica buckles tend to be flimsy. Someone will give it a positive ID soon.
