A 500-750 GPH pump would be enough but if you have much black sand in your dirt the riffles are going to clog with it unless you clean them out often with a magnet.

Ok I don't have a whole lot of black sand in the current stuff I'm running. And thanks I had been looking at a 300 gph pump but now I know I gotta go bigger.

With such a short sluice you'll need a way to regulate the flow, and some way to control the film height, otherwise you'll have blowout problems. Also, since you don't have a slick plate classifying will be critical.

Ok... I have to ask... Why only one foot for the length? What is the WIDTH of the unit as that is what is going to determine the amount of water you need more than the length.

I'm confused too, the first thing I'd do is buy a longer sluice:) Then it kind of varies but I would recommend 1200gph pump and adjust it to perfect flow.
