1st for 2026

Well it’s been a hot minute since I’ve found anything worth posting. It was cold this morning in the 30s and still ice on the creek puddles. But we had a big flood 2 weeks ago and I needed to walk this creek. I found some other stuff like pottery and preformed chert but the Pickwick was definitely the highlight of the day and month of January.

I haven’t measured it but I believe it’s around 3 inches which is a good size for my area.

Found this preform blade out there also. They were thinning it out then stopped and tossed it. It’s a rough grainy chert.

I went yesterday and walked for 6 hours. Nothing but flakes and pottery sherds. I just got permission for another creek but it will be a week before I can go.
