1ST Merc fer ol' AP!

Still cold as all hell in Idaho, patches of snow here & there but today was a beautiful day! Sun was out, not a cloud in the sky & ol' AP got off work a couple hours early so I hit the older part of town. 1st stop........a buddies house, he just bought this home so I cleaned up his yard of pulltabs, clad & a 1952 wheaty. Then I hit a middle school track fer some more pulltabs, foil, clad & my 1st mercury dime.........a 1942! I think this year is gonna be a good one for me, please dont snow tonight, please dont snow tonight! Also, I think its a penny flattened by a train, Ive got a few of em now.

I am sooo jealous of the cool coin, I'm gonna only comment on the squished one

We MDed along some REAL old tracks recently and found a bunch of those squished pennies. Actaully found a squished quarter too, only way to tell were the ridges on the perimeter. It's the ultimate tease wondering what year the coins were minted.

good job! I remember the first silver coin I found was a merc, and I thought that was the best thing in the world. When my mom moved into her current house I detected it and found a dollar piece (modern), a few wheaties and a merc. Everytime I've detected it since things still pop up. Don't stop searchin them sites

I waited and tried to find my first for so long. I was beginning to think I'd never find one. Finally, I hit one. Then I started finding them one after another...sometimes 2 or 3 in a day! So get ready...
