I got with a couple of my hunting buddies of mine today for a few hours and I did OK, there were not a lot of good targets, but I did manage a 1859 Indian and my first large cent of the year, a nice 1845. Thanks for Looking..........Lee

Congratz on two nice old coppers and in good condition as well ~ Jimmy

Just cuious, but did the 1859 ring up as a nickel or a penny?
They have some nickel in them during those years('59-'64)
Government changed to mostly copper because nickel was
to hard to strike up a good coin.

Sweet large cent. IF your going to find a Large Cent- that's the way you want them to look!! :icon_sunny:

The 1859 Indian gave a mid tone like a nickel and the numbers were lower than a normal Indian, a normal Indian will come in at between 50 and 56. I was using a Fisher F75................Lee

Denver Nuggets said it exactly as I thought it when I saw your finds, SWEET!

Very nice finds!
