at least you got wheaties, its been so long that
i found one, ive forgot what they look like :laughing9:

they do seem to be getting rare lately

doesn't seem like your back was giving you to much trouble today.. nice job.

Nice Wheaties Jeff! Most of those old Wheaties are worth just as much as the Indian Head pennies. I dug a few the other day and they sometimes fool you for a split second into thinking that they're Indians b/c many come out with that same pretty green patina. Do you save your fishing sinkers? I love fishing in addition to detecting and have found that I've saved quite a bit of money by saving the fishing sinkers that I find...Don't think I've bought lead weights in 3 years :). I really appreciate it when folks add those scenery photos of their sites when they can. Thanks and HH! :icon_thumleft:

Thanks &

Yes I always saved sinkers.
although I did give 50 plus pounds of
them away over the years to friends who do fish,
I try to keep a Healthy collection of all the different types
and sizes I'v found.

3 wheats definitely help make the trip worthwhile!! How deep are you finding them? Could be silver hiding there too!

Congrats!

Dave

3 to 6 inches on the wheats.

but ground is old fill

in the early years,
on the 1875 Map
the park is listed as a creek
"Poplar run" which ran
down the middle of the street
Tremont.webp
at some point after 1875 it was filled in.

There are Stone plots,
some real nice Ground,
and other spots thick roots.
There are also some obvious
Reminants of some Very old, Very big trees
along the edge

Bruce and I were talking this a.m. brass item might be a home-made trapper's tag. Some letters are higher/lower than others indicating a hand punched label.

Yes I never thought of trappers
tag but another possability.

Odd no holes unless he never finished it.
Or perhaps made to Insert each end under something.

other possabilities

tool Tag.
Tag for personal tool box.
signature plate for Cabinet he made.
Just Playing with Letter Taps at home or school.
etc. etc.

Odd;
name not found in tremont so far
not even in the Former residents of that Block.

one robert in Hegins but unknown if former tremont res.

I would like to at least date it
