Guy Trades For Tank On eBay, Finds $2.5 Million In Gold... Think he will get to keep it.... I bet not...

From https://bearingarms.com/bob-o/2017/04/09/guy-buys-tank-ebay-finds-2-5-million-gold-hidden-inside/

A TANK fanatic got a new model in a £30,000 trade-in – and found more than £2million of gold bullion hidden in the fuel tank.
Nick Mead, 55, discovered the five gold bars in the Russian T54/69 while restoring it to add to his collection of 150 military vehicles.
He and mechanic Todd Chamberlain were filming themselves prising open the diesel tank in case they found munitions and needed to show it to bomb disposal crews.
Instead, they pulled out the bars, weighing up to 12lb – 5kg – apiece.
Todd, 50, said a quick calculation suggested they were worth in excess of £2million.

Beat me to it by minutes.

Hell of a find that guy made. Hope he gets to keep some for his honesty!

If it were me I'd have never found anything but diesel residue inside that tank. :skullflag:

Why on earth do people open their mouths about this stuff?

With 150 military vehicles.. he probably has all the money he needs.. maybe he is a fame seeker.. maybe he thought the historical value was greater than keeping them himself..

Turn off the camera, erase the file, "get rid of mechanic " and KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!

A great find, that most of us would like to find. Hope to keep the gold and pay their taxes.

how did I not know I could get a tank on ebay?
and here I been having one sent over a piece at a time labeled as medical waste

It would be great driving down the streets with a old Army tank scaring the Hell out of people.

Or during one of those protest that block the road.... but the fuel mileage stinks....:occasion14:

Grease the tracks with some protesters and you might gain an extra MPG or two. Can't hurt to try.

"No wonder this damn thing wouldn't start... the fuel line opening is blocked by this big yellow fuel tank weight,,, sheesh "

lucky! he got a great find

How exactly would he turn it into cash without raising questions? Not trying to be a smart ass, but really... I think it would almost be like selling a stolen, priceless painting. Even if he was to melt it down, that's a lot of gold to disperse.

and he told people idiot
