I've never understood the arrowhead thing. There are many people that expertly and openly reproduce these things by hand, then age them in a tumbler or by other methods to order by the dozen.

I have found gold, silver, many relatively modern artifacts, some ancient artifacts and thousands of modern coins.
Never once in my life have I found or personally ever witnessed someone I know well to to have found an arrowhead.
Furthermore I have spent lots of time hunting on former Indian land riverbanks, beaches, tree lines, wet stream beds, Dry stream beds

i'm sure they are out there, and I'm sure some are genuine, but I believe that those remaining are extremely rare. I don't know how possibly they can be found in clusters, and how it is that the same few people are in possesion of dozens of them.
To me this is an "emperors new clothes circumstance that I will never understand.

I found my first one by pure accident last fall. Dug a good signal with the detector and when i flipped the plug a perfect one laid there right beside a shotgun shell

lived in Missouri for over 20 years and found couple thousand points. I tried to teach some friends and some learned and some couldn't see them right under their feet..

Some of the more expensive types people send in for authentication (C.O.A). We have a knappers forum here and some really good artist. To be honest it takes a long time to perfect the technique to any degree of accuracy. There is much to know about lithic technology and is a science all of its own. Look for the chert(flint) flakes when out in fields and look for worked edges and you may come across a site.
Good luck hope you find some. I have found hundreds.Figure every major city sits on a native american site and look for old water sources.

I live right on a route-they say 10,000yrs they travelled it. I detect the fields that border the creek (big enough for boats) and I know what to look for on the soil.
In 7 yrs of looking not one flake or point to be found. I've hunted the fields that I've seen the display of points that the family tree had collected-yet not one point.
The point is they are there, and they might be a just a turn of the soil away.
I've been told of certain fields when the farmer ploughed the finders would be as thick as seagulls following the tractor around the field.
Looking for them never gets old.

I'm the guy from Texas that's finds hundreds a day. As a matter of fact I have found over 1000 a day a few times. No I don't make them. I find village sites and excavate. Most of you have no clue how many artifacts are out there. I excavated over 30000 points from just 2 acres.

Also, they are not “easy” to make. Some have mastered the skill and make it look easy. Anyone who thinks it’s easy, pick up a billet and start knapping
