Here are 2 different brass items that I have dug recently and need help with ID's. The one I know is some kind of hammer, does not appear to be all that old, but what was it for? It has a hollow handle with inside threads & solid head, all brass construction. The other item looks very familiar, but I just cannot place it, it is also all brass, with a screw at the base for tightening & it looks to be pretty old. Quarter put in for scale, THANKS for any help!!!

Maybe a battery cable terminal. :icon_scratch:

Don't know about the hammer looking item.

The hammer would have had a small set of screw drivers in it. It was a combination tool.
I should know what the other one was, but I don't remember.. Ahhh.

Yep I have one just like it somewhere. They have been around at least back into the 60's but probably much older.

The hammer screwdriver sets have been out for a long time. The older ones usually resemble a ball peen type instead of the cone head.

The other piece may be a ground connection for pipe but I cant find the right pic.. ground-clamp-pipe conn.webp

The thing on the left reminds me of a part to an air filter that goes to a carburetor on an old small engine :dontknow:

the one looks like a crankcase blowby tube on the side of an old flathead engine

it looks like an old ball joint or tie rod end.

If the small hole in Item 1 is threaded for a grease cert I will go along with the old ball joint thing. It would have a heavy rubber seal around the big hole and the ball joint would snap fit into it. If that small hole isn't threaded for a grease cert then I am 100% wrong! :laughing7: Monty

i was thinking that also about being brass,

but there many different types of ball joints.

it dont have to be heavy duty enough to be automotive.

it could even be for an awning or gate. just thinking.
