Went for a quick hunt today at a spot I've hunted once before with no great results, today's funds were significantly better. First time at this spot I found a trash dump and spent most my time digging through that and at the end of the day I detected and found a few wheaties in the 40s. Was with a friend today and his first single was a wheatie 1930 something. I walked in a diffrent direction and found the slq my first one ever so I was excited. Few holes later I got a 1880 indian head, didnt think the area was that old so I called over my friend and started detecting around where the 2 coins were found. An engraved spoon handle and some other fancy copper came up next. Then I got a good copper single and about 4 inches deep I popped out the 2 cent piece also my first one ever. I got one more indian head a button in great condition, pair of cufflinks, drawer pull, and what I think is a copper ring. No idea what the other copper piece is. Overall it was my favorite hunt so far and it was at a place we were hoping to get some modern silvers at best

Congrats on your first 2 Cent Piece, and the rest of your coin and relic finds.

Congrats on the old coin shooting! :occasion14:

Awesome day . Congratulations.

Nice finds there! I like the 1820/30s one piece eagle artillery button. Found a few of them myself in the last month. Can you read the back mark one it?
Easily the oldest thing you found there is the set of octagonal cuff links, which are circa 1760.

Nice hunt, wtg on your 2 firsts, really nice button & earring's, congratulations on all the saves

Wait. That little octagonal cuff link says that? Can you post a pic? They look exactly like colonial cuff links, but Robinson Jones & Co is a button manufacturer circa 1826.

I miss read your question, that's what it says on the back of the button

Great finds there. I too like the Eagle button. Well Done, and go back to that site.

I think I misread your answer :laughing7:
Robinson & Jones started in 1826 which is a appropriate backmark for that button type. That style button was adopted in 1821. The ones I've been finding lately are backmarked Young & Smith, a firm that started in 1830.

Wow, that’s a really nice batch of finds. I’m envious of all of them. Way to go!
