It was random stroll through the woods in my normal spot. Picked up 2 Wheats early on so I slowed down my sweep speed. With in a couple of feet I picked up a walker. Ok, time to start a grid. Photos tell the rest.

Day 2 Total

There was nothing visually significant about this spot, but all my finds were concentrated to an half football field size area. I'm thinking something significant happened here in the early 1900s. Maybe a market or camp of some sort.

Wow. Some really good stuff there. What year is the seated?

Great finds!

Amazing haul! 3 different generations of coins! I wonder why. Perhaps a traveling carnival annually set up there from the 1880's to early 1900's.

Nice Finds !

I like the Connecticut Transportation token.

because I actullay found C.R. & L. Lines tokens here in PA

What kind of machine you using? I lay awake at night hoping to find a spot like that. Very nice finds. Congrats!

Congrats on a absolutely spectacular hunt. I am speechless...

Total WOW factor! sweet sweet sweet!

Nice finds. I would love to find that many old coins in a single day. I was happy digging a silver roosevelt this past weekend.

Hope you can back out there and find some more.

Pete

I wonder how 3 generations of coins get into one location? Could it be that there was forty years of activity? Or we're was there only a couple years of activity in the early 1900s, and people were still carrying seated coinage in their pockets? I would love to know how long a design stays in heavy circulation before it is removed.

I dream of finding a site like that someday. Without revealing anything important, was the site researched or out-in-the-open obvious?

I did no research, just walked through the woods like I normally do. The area was one that I passed by many times thinking somebody had to of hunted it.

I have found acoin spill recently with ef 1920 wheats with very worn 1890's indian heads. I would say at least 20 to 25 years.

Wow! Great finds!!! I'm still waiting on my first seated

Congrats

I went back to my honey hole today to clean up a few loose ends and close out the site. Once I got there I changed my mind and decided to change the Deus settings and re-sweep the same area from a different angle to see what I missed. I was a little surprised at the amount of coins still in the ground. Especially since I re-swept only half the area!
