First two pictures were a small area on a farm shop where they had recently pulled up the potato's. Not much but at least our best find of the day was silver :icon_thumright:
3rd picture is 1 hour on the land we had the cauldron on, which seems to be a freak find on this land.

Posts will be much more like this from now on until the harvest :'(

But you dug enough to give yourself the chance. On those days even if I didn't find anything great I'm very content knowing I had a shot, the Detecting god just didn't lead the way to something good.

Yeah, both land has produced the odd gem in the past. Never minded gritting my teeth & getting my head down until better times. (its Cru'dad that gets impatient :D )

It's not that bad mate, nothings that bad :D

A blank is a distant memory ::)

Cool digs Cru. The first old silver i found when I first got into this was an 1839 Shilling.

Look on the bright side..not one four holed button :o :D

I like the silver shilling, and 3rd picture, upper right hand corner... that button is pretty cool too

I think I could deal with finds like that until spring. I know it must be hard, though, when you have dug Celtic gold and all those hammereds.

HH,
Rusted

yeah the button is OK as it has its loop & will join my others in my collection.

It is hard but still enjoyable & part of the detecting experience, if it were easy all the time we would have more competition :wink:

These are not bad finds at all, I would like to find that stuff here in a few days! There should be some laidback land someplace around you, or not?

Do you mean set-a-side land, very little of that goes on now they don't paid for it. Or do you mean pasture? Done the few areas we had in previous years. There are still a few options left until early in the year, but we are just poking around the edges of new land looking for future sites. As you know the unknown can go either way but mostly like this.

Welcome back to the forum :icon_thumright:
