Cold today in mass, but headed out to the beach anyway. Dug 4 buffalo head nickles an 1898 V-nickle, couple of wheats, clad and two GOLD RINGS BABY!!!
One has a name LINDA 1-7-73 or 1-9-93? and a marking of 750. I forget what Karot that is. The smaller ring is 10K and says BABY. Could be for a baby or an adult baby with small fingers. :dontknow:
HH all. :icon_thumleft:

When I dug them, they had a green redish coating. I immediatly walked them down to the salt water and rubbed my fingers over them. I figured that they were already scratched up so it wouldn't do anymore damage. I used my finger nails on some areas. :dontknow:

Maybe it's the salt water and surf keeping them clean. Mine come out an ugly, red color.

Ty you all.
The beach is very rocky, so I think the rockskeeps them looking like this. :icon_scratch:
I was pleasantly surprised when I dug them also. Nickles I dig on land are usually stained and ugly. :-\

You know I never ever thought about 1893. I also thought the script looked old to me. I found the 1898 v-nickle and other 1800's items at this spot. It dates back to early 1700's. I wonder how we could find out if it is 1893?

Doesn't the design look machined and were they putting names in rings in 1893? :dontknow:
