well i was doing a transaction at wells F bank and i saw a 25 cent coin golden in color, and i ask the teller to show it to me, then i ask why is it golden in color? she said it is probably new design, or the new coins, so i ask if i could buy it, she say is ok, so i gave her a dollar bill she gave me 4 quarters including the 2008-1912 golden coin, so today i was looking at a spanish speaking coin site at facebook, and some has a coin like mine, but 1998, golden coin also. well i'm just curios if this will be a rare coin? or why so far i only saw 2 like the one i own? i went today to ebay and can't find nothing like it. by the way i weight it and compare with a regular 2011 quarter and they are only a .10 of a gram diference in weight, meaning almost nothing, just 10% of a gram.

It's a gold plated quarter. Not exactly common but still only worth a quarter

Google gold plated quarter and you find out all about them

all right, found it, it only worth like 3 dls maximum, :dontknow:

Yeah, but fun to find and have for face value. It is one of those non-valuable oddities that I would keep if I found if for face value.

I found both Gold-plated and silver-plated halves. I keep one of each year and mint because they look really nice. (Got about 15 of each right now) Not worth much other than that though...and, of course, face value...Brad
