2 head scratchers ok TNET Pro's need your help

These were dug at a Confederate camp. I do not know if these are period or even what they are. I left my Tape measure at work so used a normal pen as size reference. Here are the two head scratchers

Are those wood screws on the first item?

They are rusted metal that is all I know. I was going to run electrolysis on it but wanted to post photos before incase it doesn't make it. How do I know if they are wood screws? I am no carpenter so I wouldn't know the difference

wood screws have threads which are spaced somewhat far apart with a steep radial incline, whereas most screws for metal have closer spaced threads and less of an incline

Only one I can make out the threads on and they are farther apart than what I see on most screws. The other screw is completely encased in rust

second item could be a kick stand holder on a bike
keeps the bar in place when kicked up

Top piece reminds me of a piece of automobile trim, like the bezel off a door mirror, exterior light, or maybe door handle. Many were held in place with "speed nuts", stamped sheet metal nuts which had no structural strength, but were fine for trim pieces.

What material is the 2nd piece made of?

The top one is a bearing plate that would have been mounted on a wooden frame, box, or housing for an iron shaft to go through. Maybe a crank for a sheller, grinder, cutter etc. Tony

The two screws appear to be lag screws which would have a very coarse thread.

Those 2 posts, might also have inner threads. Reminds me of a drawer/cabinet pull. Impossible to tell unless electrolysis cleans them up real good. Also if it's a wood screw it will be pointy at the end, and threads at a pretty good angle.
