I almost didn't go out today. Lots of stuff to do around the house. Add that to the fact that I was a little sore from yesterday's marathon hunt.
I ended up talking myself into hunting a local park. It is only around 5 miles away but the Friday get away traffic turned it into a 45 minute ride.
The park I picked has been hit by every CTX swinging hunter in NYC. I didn't really expect anything but like they say, "No place is ever hunted out"
I was pleasantly surprised to get a silver dime but wasn't sure it was silver. That's because it came out of the ground black. The same thing happened a second time about an hour later. Two silver Rosies, (46 & 47), both discolored. A little baking soda brightened them up.
I knew that I had dug an Indian Head Nickel, (Buffalo), but didn't discover that I had recovered an Indian Head Penny until I got home.
The Buffalo is a no date nickel but the Indian Head Penny is a 1908. It's my first IHP of the 2016 season.

The 4 Wheat Pennies are 18, 19, 39, & 44
