Hi folks
Warning there will be a LOT of pics.
Last week started to hunt this old farm house all the while looking at the house next door thinking it was even older ( the grass is always greener ya know lol ). The 1st old farm house was kind enough to give up some really cool things to include my 1821 Farthing I told everyone about last week.
So, on Monday I went next door to ask to hunt there also. The nice old man next door knew me so, he told me to enjoy myself and hunt anytime I wanted to. Needless to say lol that is not something to tell one of us when we start to find goodies.
This is the lawn that I was able to this week get my large cent ( no date ), and my 1852 three cent silver.
I went back two more times this week with today being the latest time. I did not get any silver coins today but, I did get some very nice little coins. Right next to a tree I got a nice high tone and the meter said 11/35 this hole gave up 1 little 2 little 3 little Indians. ::)
This is a really big yard and, I tried very hard to work a nice tight pattern. While close to the house I got a really high tone that gave up a little toy gun. A few steps latter the get away car lol.
Near the back of the house is where I got all of the buttons to include the gold oak leaf ( that I think is from a Majors uniform but not sure ). The 1st old button was right under the edge of a big old Rhododendron bush. The 2nd button came near the old burn barrel, and the 3rd button came right next to a brush pile. I
think I got a mini ball and, also I think I got two CW buttons. Please look at the pics and let me know if there are.
The lawn was kind enough to give up a few silver coins and, 5 really worn buffalo nickles. Plus, well over 30 wheat pennies.
Also, scattered through the lawn I was able to get 7 junk rings and, a nice little silver religious medal, and also a nice rosary that the string broke.
Funny thing is the "old" ( the 3 cent silver and the large cent ) coins came from a very small area in the front of the house. I was lucky enough to find wheat pennies all over the yard.
I still have the right hand side yard and, the right hand back yard to search. I walked into the right hand side yard for a couple of minutes and, near the back of the house where the root cellar door was is where the silver quarter and the realy big belt buckle came from.
Here are the pics I know there is a lot I hope you enjoy.
