2 Old Horse Shoes

I found these today and was wondering if anyone could tell me the age of them and how to clean them. Found in N GA, thanks rock

horse shoes are still being made which makes it hard to date them. Did you find any nails anything else old around them? As far as cleaning them there is a section on the forum Cleaning & Preservation for cleaning objects, everything from electrolysis to chemicals. I am sure someone will come a long and offer better advice soon. Congrats on the horse shoes though. I only seem to find broken ones that are so far rusted they are so brittle if you sneeze you break them.

Nothing else but the wagon wheel which was metal rim and spokes all metal and it was heavy. No pic cause it was quite far out in the woods. I really didnt want to carry it back until I could find out more on what I found. Thanks for the response Bims.
