So my mom, knowing I collect coins, bought 2 rolls of pre-1940 wheats for me from ebay. I was skeptical, but I figured I would be able to fill some slots in my album. LOTS of 1939, but a good variety otherwise. Here is the breakdown:

1910 - 1
1916 - 2
1918 - 2
1918D -1
1919 - 2
1919S - 3
1920 - 4
1923 - 1
1924 - 2
1925 - 1
1926 - 2
1926D - 3
1927 - 3
1928 - 1
1928D -1
1929 - 6
1930 - 1
1934 - 1
1935 - 5
1935D - 1
1936 - 1
1936D - 2
1936S - 1
1937 - 5
1937D - 1
1938 - 3
1939 - >:( >:( 43 >:( >:(
1939S - 1

Nice group of coins, too bad about the 39's. I went to a local auction where they were selling off a large group of coins and I bought a few. I couple of rows of BU pennies for a dollar each, as well a a jar of wheat pennies (400 total), for 9 dollars. Also a Franklin half for a buck fifty. No one there wanted it. It was in rough shape and they were looking for condition, not silver value. There loss was my gain. I'll buy 90% silver at $1.50 any day. Does anyone else buy pennies from eBay or at antique stores? The prices seem to vary a lot. Sorry if this is off topic.

I visit antique stores to see what they have. Most owners know nothing about coins and the coin prices tend to be too high.

I guess they think just because it is older they can ask for more money. I guess someone will pay it but not me!

Boy you ain't kiddin there. $15.00 bucks each for circulated common date Mercs here. ::) They're nuts.

I got a bag of wheats at a coin show, which had around 15 rolls of wheats total in it. Paid a really good price, but 5 of the rolls were 1940. Sheesh. I think only 6 coins were pre-'20. :P
