2 Seated dimes and 7 silver coins on the beach (Silver Dime Grand Slam)

03/27/2014 hunt. Silver #67-76 (Silver Dime Grand Slam)

On Thursday after work, managed to get to the beach in NJ.
The result was a lucky day: two Seated dimes and 7 silver coins.
Half of these coins were right on the surface of the sand, which I was very surprised.

2 Seated Dimes 1876-1886
3 Mercury Dimes 19-?,1920,1941
1 Barber Quarter 1893
1 Barber Dime 1905-o
1 Silver Washington Quarter 1959
1 Silver Roosevelt Dime 1952
1 1906 Hupeh Province China 10 Cash
1 Token 5 boehm`s cafe
1 Buckle
1 IH
8 Wheats

Wow what a great haul of silver, keep hitting that hot spot while you can. I have found coins on top of the ground also on the beach, it is at low tide stuck in the little pebbles, my surface silver finds were stained and blended in well.

Many beaches at the Jersey shore were severely damaged by hurricane Sandy.They replenished many beaches with sand from off shore.Unless you were on a very old,unused portion of shoreline,I'll bet these coins were restocked on the beach from offshore. I was tired of our endless Winter in Northern NJ, so in February drove to Sea Bright, NJ. I was told the beach there was totally replenished from off shore. Detected for 2 hours and my only good find was a 1939 Washington Quarter. These beaches get hunted all the time and I doubt someone would miss a coin this old. I figured the 39 coin probably was deposited on the beach from off shore. Your coins are much older and I don't see how they would go undiscovered for so long a time. Nice finds! That's a dream haul for sure.

It doesn't appear to be a replenished beach it looks like a "bay beach"
