We got to hunt another old house... the yard had no grass and was extremely easy to dig... so we just knew it would be a good hunt... I found 10 wheats 3 44's 3 42's 3 41's and a 1916. I also found a sweet 16 pendant it says STER on the back...also I found a 1920 Mercery... at the time I thought it was a 1921 and I was excited knowing how good of shape it was... but its a 1920 and I know I may have said this before but as far as the detail this has to be the best looking mercury I have ever seen come out of the ground except for the dirt blasting it got over the years. I think it could grade XF... wow if it was a 1921 I could of had a several hundred dollar coin! but its just a 1920... so close!

4 wheats were in one hole 2 were in another..

My partner go his first ever silver quarter... 1943

Nice finds:occasion14:,
How do you clean your silver?
I have a sterling silver chain bracelet i need to clean that is tarnished black/gray in some places, and also has some blue oxidation.
Any advice?

The best thing I use for cleaning silver is baking soda and water being it a bracelet you can soak it or scrub it with a soft tooth brush... might take a bit more work if the initial cleaning don't work.

Nice merc..even has the detail on the reverse threads...

The more I look at the more I am amazed that there is no wear at all on this coin... except the background being so rough. I guess a brand new coin inn the ground for over 90 years couldn't look any better!

way to go that's in great shape! I can't wait to find my first merc

Great merc and thanks for the tips on cleaning

now as far as silver coins... don't clean them other than with a soft tooth brush and baking soda and at that very lightly... if its a key date I wouldn't even do that!
