2 War nickel enders

Openned a box of nickels and found two enders a P and a S. Openned the first roll and found a 1944 S. So 49 rolls to open and already have 3. Most I have ever found in a box was 1.

Just openned the 4th roll and found a 1945 P.

9th roll and I found 2 in it, a 1944 S, and 1945 S. My wife yelled at me for yelling.

1- 43P and then a roll with 3 of them, 42P, 43P and 43S.

14 Total war nickels, 1 roll had 3, and 2 rolls had 2, both enders (did them last) only had them.

1- 1942P
2- 1943P 2- 1943S
3- 1944S 1- 1944P
3- 1945S 2- 1945P

Best box I have ever gotten by 14 times.

Was there a bunch of older nickels as well, ie. pre 1960, or was it a normal box with just a lot of war nickels?

There was 29 pre-60's, 1 1981 Canadian, and 1 blank, don't know but I'd guess after mint damage except I don't see any real sanding marks on it. Doesn't seem like the edge is as sharp as it should be but it is raised a little.

About average on the pre-60's for a box. No Indian heads.

Well done - I got a '43-P ender today myself!

Nickles are the new dimes. Hard on the eyes but more bang for the buck, and they don't count as pennies in coin counters.

And don't forget the occasional Buffalo or V nickel surprise like the 1889 V I found this week. Condition was HM-60 (Hot Mess 60), but I'll take it anytime.

Sounds like a great box! second best box I have ever heard of.
The best one...was one that I bought, $30 at a time... lol
The bank had already opened the box and put the rolls in trays...so I kept going and buying more until they ran out..
Over all i pulled more than 45 war nickels..
I was in love.. I only had like 5 before I bought all those.

Congratulations. It will be hard to find more silver than that in a box of nickels!

I'm figuring on going back to the bank and asking them for every nickel they have on Monday. I'm hoping they got another box when they got mine. The vault teller manager has told me that I could bring coins back after I search them but I never have. I'll bring the nickels back that I have rolled so she can part with whatever she has left.

Went back to the same bank this morning and traded the box of nickels that gave up 14 war nickels for another box.

Produced nothing, 24 pre-60's, don't know how many boxes she has in the vault but I'll keep trying to get a few more to see if I can get a sister box from the same batch. I even asked for loose nickels but all the teller would give me was 6 CWR.
