I believe the angel is a candle sniffer. There should be an attachment point near the center of gravity on the back. If it is it could have value. Were these two items found together?

That was my first thought -- though the design is atypical -- until I saw the bottom photo. Now I am inclined to agree that it is a handle for something. For what, would depend upon the depth and size of the screw threads and the kind of metal used. Pot metal implies a decorative use. Iron would make more sense for a hefty tool like a poker.
