Due to being overweight riding bikes is not something I have done lately.I used to ride religiously and even rode my Schwinn Continental 10 speed 17 mile one way to visit my first girlfriend .Hey she was a great kisser. Or must have been because I did this 35 mile round trip about 3 times a week on average for two years weather permitting. And my main road was the infamous 8 mile rd from mound to evergreen for those that know the area.So last summer I knew I was looking at some level of quality when a neighbor sold me a bike that needed new rims for a hundred bucks. A lot of loot since I am disabled due to sleep disorders. Upon buying it I posted on the craigslist bike forums what I had bought to find out the best price/value ratio on rims to buy for a 250 lb guy.I got answers and by the next morning 2 offers for $1500.00 for the frame alone. He had said it was a $3000.00 dollar bike new but when he said he wanted $100.00 I guess I threw that info aside. I had bought a Bontrager Titanium with about $500.00 in upgrades for that pittance. I am keeping the bike to lose weight because well it fits and I feel very safe on it. I can get aggressive on it without even a tiny bit of flex in the frame. Amazing machine that will help me to get in shape for the sake of hanging around with my 7 year old son and hopefully keeping up for a few years. And it was a $3000.00 dollar bike when new by the way.
