2 yesterday 5 today and the day isn't over yet

I met the nicest Russians down the river yesterday both named Serg they were fishing for carp and catfish,I introduced them to the bait I use and both were glad for the receipt.What impressed them were the 2 I caught using it.I was going to release the first one and young Serg asked if He could have it "by all means".He was so thankful even more so with the second one.They told me the smaller ones are best eating.

The 5 I got this AM..

Ducklings hitching a ride,would have been nice a LOT closer..

Fearless catbird..

Made more bait so going back later today.

Nice shots, so you eat the carp? I have never had carp always was told to throw them back as they weren't very good.

Bottom feeder, schmottom feeder, if it tastes good, eat it! Nice catch, and pics! I have never heard of Russians fishing in America before. First time for everything!

It's a melting pot down the river of many nationalities,two things we all have in common 1-we are all people 2-we all are after fish.

Would have been nice to be closer to those little ducklings or manganser babies, cruising on mama's back, but still just seeing what all goes on in nature's world is awesome to witness. Odd thing I saw yesterday as I took the dogs for a walk in a light drizzle of rain. I went by a place that's a flood marsh and was watching the swift birds swooping along like fighter jets low over the water. Then I saw a grackle blackbird coming towards one of those swift a in midair grabbing the swift by the wing. They tumbled together into the shallow water and the swift was frantically beating the face of the grackle with it's other wing until it got free and was able to escape and fly away out of the water. It was quite a dramatic scene, as I felt a bit of anxiety when I saw that grackle grab that swift and hang on to it with it beak. I was like Oh No! but I was relieved to see that little swift fight like hell to get away, which it did. I never knew a grackle was a predatory bird on others.

Or tiny frozen shrimp. I used those for catfish on my great uncle's farm, where he let a limestone quarry fill-up into a good sized lake. The aroma of those shrimp is irresistible, but it also smells great to other bottom feeders, such as carp.

It was funny watching them slide off mom's back and scramble like crazy getting back up there..

Being across the river from the City of Springfield there are quite a mix of every race,color,creed..we're ALL people and we're after FISH. I just would like some of them to TAKE OUT what they bring in stop trashing the place,I always end up taking out MORE than I bring.
