My boss let me detect her 200 year old farmhouse 2 days in a row. The front yard was very productive, though I found a few goodies in the side and back yard. All of the old non/wheat pennies were from a patch of ground around 4' x8'. I'm letting the ground rest for a while then I'm going to go back over the area again. I had multiple "Firsts" here! First silver coin(s), first large cent, I found my first indian head a week before this, so these were close seconds, and first V-nickle! Really great couple days of detecting, I will be hunting more farmhouses in the future!!!
The quality finds with some whatsits. Three harmonica reeds.

The clad and some doodads, lots of keys. Around $7 in clad!

Top left is a degraded hair barrette, any ideas on the "ASIA" piece, watch fob? The pin is sterling, "Merkel Trucking Ace Driver 5 Years No Accidents". The ring is junk, with a cool art deco sunrise, the pin below that is a painters pallet (junk metal but cool). Not sure what the glass thing is, it's marked "CHICAGO BROWN BROS". Is the cap above the glass piece anything? Finally three barbers, two in great shape, 1909, 1910, 1913! No mint marks.

Large Cent 1851, Indian Head Pennies: 1895, 1898, 1901. V-Nickle 1907.
Wheat Pennies: 1910, '12, '16, '18, '19, '19, '30, '40, '40, 42, '44, '51.

These are two Jeffersons that came out of the ground red and cruddy that I tried two different cleaning methods on before attempting to clean up the V-Nickle. The left hand Jefferson was soaked in Vinegar and Salt, it left it clean, but gray and pitted with a flat luster. The right hand Jefferson was scrubbed with an SOS pad lightly under running water which cleaned a bit of red off and brought out the features. That's what I opted for with the V-nickle.

Close up of the glass piece. Site glass maybe? And the bicycle stem cover is marked Cleveland-Dill which is kinda neat since I'm in Cleveland.

Lots of text, thanks for reading.
