DFX, COMPASS SCANNER,
I did 90% of my detecting within a 4 or 5 block radiusof my home and there is plenty more here for me to do. The last 8 or so pictures are of my junk collection which most of it was dug out of my yard and there is plenty more here to dig, for sure. All my digs displayed on the table were found this year except the snake handled letter opener. Its going to take a couple of pages of pictures, please enjoy and just imagine how many times we bend over and get down on our knees and dig, wow. Hope everyone had a good year, I know I did, and I cant wait for next year. I wish everyone a happy and safe holidays and prosperous and luck filled year. Dig It. ;D JYD

That is amazing in such a small area the good thing is once cleaned out only you will know how good the targets are. Dan

4 or 5 blocks from your house? What do you live in a museum? Absolutely some fantastic digs! what's the story behind that knife?

If you are talking about the snake handled knife or letter opener, I found that about 10 to 15 years ago about a hour away from here, its brass and nice and heavy, its one of my favorite finds. I live in a area that most of the homes are very old and not quite the upperclass if you know what I mean plus there was alot of civil war activity all around here, my house was built in 1869, and its right next to a area they camped at all during the civil war. But that also means alot of detecting has also been going on, I know most of the people around here, I have been concentrating on some out of the box places that I dont think have been hit as much or any. I dig everything just for the fact of getting it gone so I can maybe pick up some goodies hiding. The US buckle I almost didnt dig, it was my first dig of the day and I was right next to the road across from the old town square, it blasted and I thought it was a beer can, I have dug alot of them in that area. That was one time I am glad I dug. Hey thanks for the reply. HH and good luck. JYD

Man what a variety you hauled in Wes.....From A to Z.....Even your "junk" is Awesome!!! Are you sure there's anything left in the ground around your area? Great Dig's and Best of Luck in 09'.....Joe

Great finds!

What do you do with the trash? In my country we must recycle stuff like that :)

That is an amazing collection of junque and crape'! And some very good finds mixed in too. You remind me of me since I find it hard to throw away anything I dig. I have three large coffe cans full of "stuff" that I should get rid of since I have pictures of it, but just can't bring myself to do it. Oh and that last picture froze up my computer and I had to reboot. :D :D  I really enjoyed looking and you are very fortunate to be in an area with so many opportunities to make great finds. Monty

Tons of stuff, your knees must be sore from all that digging this year! Hope you find just as much next year!
