Platinum can easily be assayed thru its density and specially thru its shining appearing.....but most people who appoaches us usually carrying a piece of white metal scrap from shipwrecks or plane wrecks or excavated...etc..
If you told them it looks dull and not shining enough to be a platinum....their claims or alibis, it has percentage of platinum (which is difficult to assay w/o hi-tech instrument)....so the best answer if somebody appoaches you....let them go to b. of mines/dost or competent assay company first for assay....99% they never comback...coz its all fake

As to Platinum, yes the pictures above are the total wrong color, and Merx, is also not Stainless, picture is of a much softer mix of something else... (There was one during the war called ZAP, (Zink, Aluminum, Platinum mix), but the above pictures listed as 'platinum' is almost for sure worth close to nothing...

Any car with a catalytic converter--U.S. version volvos, benzes, BMWs have a platinum lined exhaust components that cleans out? fumes. Applications are numerous. Maybe you can go through a scrapyard and find enough for one teenie weenie bar hehe

I guess It depends on where you Live.

? Around Here They are Removed When the Car is Brought in for scrap.

And it's a VERY STEEP FINE, For Removing,altering, Selling, or Using a USED Converter.

to Mr. wayne thanks man, the reason, i'll ask on what is the easy way to test for platinum is i have been contacted they found this shinny metal they told me that has been tested by 2 pawnshop one say magnesium metal the other say platinum, like i said i am a rookie no nothing about it i need your help guys thanks Ed p.s. hey! HOLA: Try this for general metal id,ing

a saturated solution of Potassium Bichromate = 1 oz of Potassium Bichromate, 6 oz. of pure Nitric acid, 2 oz. H2O

touch the metal with a drop of the solution - if Platinum, afer one minute it will be VanDyke brown, wipe it off and there will be no mark on the metal.

If anyone wishes the complete scale for most metal testing, just em me for a copy..

ERR AH MERX & the others, are we talking about assay certified bars of Platinum which are generally quite small, or bars of Platinum alloys, which have the same visual appearance?? The assayed bars all have the proper % , weight, and assay certification no. etc., stamped upon them, the others may or may not.

Since Platinum will readily alloy with many many different metals, iron for example; a specific gravity test is effectively worthless.

Whew! I wish I could help you guys in you metal assay...problems....
When I was still a test eng'r in several semiconductor companies....I simply put a piece of metal n SOFRON machine or SEIKI machine...and voila! in seconds.... you can have hard copy of different metal percentage...ex: 60% platinum, 25% silver, 15% nickel....
The problem is...I switch career....from a well paid engineer....into a jobless and poor treasure hunter...whaaaaaa. :'(

Actually...Yamash-ita treasure sites...although we have a lots of them and worth billions....is just a minor " quest" compared to our main focus and dream project....to relocate...the UFO LANDING STATION and UFO...in the jungle...
One of my partner Budz, his llate father is an abductee...he was abducted in 70's...according to him, a stranded UFO spacecraft and two obilisk tower (maybe UFO interplanetary relay station) is still there....right now its is probably covered with jungle vegetation...we tried to relocate this one...but as usual lack of budget...
Just imagine the impact if it was found and broadcast around the world....
Hollywood (star wars movie...will be ridiculed for its wrong ufo spacecraft design), NASA will redesign their spacecraft, military , religion...conflict with chriastianity....that we are not from adam and eve after all....
but of course, this is just a dream and probability...until proven and found...
....but that is just a start....we still have more interesting....adventure ...and other unexplained quest

You can have the UFO's, that stuff is too scary for me. I would wet my pants and embarrass Earth before the whole universe, and that is not a good way to start. Yes, the impact would be huge all over the world.

Can you tell me what this abductee died from? What caused his death, and at what age did he die? I am curious about the deaths of abductee's.

Sorry for treasure enthusiast....we have a side topic here, UFO

The abductee died at an old age, normal sickness....but according to him he had traveled the whole universe and beyond our galaxy in 1970....he told that there are several planets beyond pluto (it was indeed true thru the latest discoveries) in our galaxy....some people just ridiculed him...When he explained his interplanetary exploits to a Uuniversity of the Philippines professor Jaime Licauco (the no.1 paranormal expert in the philippines)...the professor jaw dropped and he listen like an ordinary childl due to higher knowledge and intelligence of the old man (abductee)...The abductee wrote unpublished book "The close Encounter of the Holy Kind" in 5 volumes....
According to the old man...he went into 7 dimensions....(only three I know so far...our dimension, the spirits/ghost dimension, the fairies and dwarfs dimension)....they time traveled into different centuries...went into atlantis and lemuria...
In fact according to him the lost continent of Lemuria is near the Philippines...according to him thats why filipinos are world best psychic healers, bcoz we are descendants of lemurians....
One living witness was the 90 year old sister of the abductee....bcoz in the 70's during a boat ride into China sea, the abductee told them that people from the underwater Lemurians (mermaids) will come overboard to fetch those who will join underwater city...When they indeed come overboard the boat...nobody among them, have the guts to join those underwater people.
.....enough for a while....bcoz its a lot of stories...5 volumes...
Of course nobody among us can confirm these....unless of course we can recover treasure ...and have enough funding for exploration...of the third kind ::)
