2012 finds

[CASPER-2]

I detected 80 hunts this year - I broke personal records in some depts. - fell short in others
but a lot of it had to do with where I hit - and where i didnt hit

I found 72 gold rings (1 returned - so 71 in pic) - personal best for me

silver (upper 39) and junk rings (bottom)

silver coins ( all from water except 1 Barber half from a farmfield)
12 halfs this year - 10 were silver - personal record

other old coins

coins for the year

coins from mexico trip

old beach tags - old bathing suit buckles and swim cap snaps
all signs that lead me to "old" gold and old coins

religious medals

keys (forgot to put in huge skeleton key)

cracker jack toys (I think these are cool)

musketballs and minie balls( I found most at one spot but found some at 7 beaches in 3 states and 2 dirty ones were found near a CW battle site)

junk earings

just some of the lures

and the sinkers

sunglasses - low count because I hit older areas and fishing areas (that used to be swimming areas)

The trouble with hunting old beaches is that it may take a long time to replenish them like you found them this year. But then I guess there are a lot of OLD beaches in the Northeast, so you just have to keep doing research and moving around. Clearly, with as many old coins and old jewelry as you found this year either the places where you hunted were not hunted before or the currents took a lot of sand off that was hiding the treasures in the past. (I am amazed at how much the sand moves around where I hunt.) However, you did have a fantastic year. Hope 2013 is as kind to you. Blessings, Papa

Actually many were hammered by others - but I went out in deeper water - some spots I cleaned the junk out and made finds underneath - others were fishing spots that others were not aware were old swim spots - i hunt in all metal most of the time and find stuff others discriminate - i also go deeper by hunting in all metal - many of those gold were found down around 2 feet - i know at a few of those spots I will go back to this year and go out even deeper and find more - some of the spots I need to return to because I have area I did not cover - others I will return to and go slower cause I know there is more down deep - some of those gold and big silver were down deep and and went off as a whisper

I get 6 weeks off vacay a year - not counting sick leave - federal job
I work nights and get out on sunday mornings at 7am - I have sunday-monday nights off - so i dont report back till tues. night
so its like having 3 days off
when i say 80 hunts - I did not mean 80 days - if I hunted an AM low tide and then hit the PM low tide - that would be 2 hunts - I did this alot in the summer with Whydah - many times I would et down to his neck of the woods for the sunday PM tide - stay the night somewhere and then hit the monday AM tide and monday PM tide and sometimes stay the night again and hit the tues. AM - so I would get 4 hunts in three days - a few times I got 5 hunts in 3 days

you'll see that I was lucky enough to have had more than a few multiple gold ring hunts or a string of hunts together where I got 5 gold in 3 days

I hit morning AM tide with Whydah at one spot - He got a huge gold
Pm tide that day we went to another beach and I got a huge gold
next morning we hit another AM spot and I got 2 gold
and then we moved to another spot for PM low where I got another 2 gold
and I think he got 1 too
so 2 days hunting BUT 4 hunts

Average..... wow where does that put the rest of us I hunted a lot of days this year.... not every day but a lot of days. I think i ended the year with 65. You just find some incredible.... incredible rings. Maybe i need a job ( that) .... ya right. You and your crew..... i wouldnt call average hunter. I think you fall into the 10 percent that get 90 percent of the gold. Once again .... great year.
