These were found this year at a few different sites in southwest Manitoba, The projectile points should look familiar to those who collect artifacts on the northern plains.

What types are the ones in pic #9? What do you call them is my question. You got a nice array of artifacts.

Rock, those are tools made from quartzite spalls. If you were to flip them over, the other side would be the flat cortex of the stone. Not too sure what their function is-maybe for scrapping hides or digging tools.

Good collection! Thanks for the show ;) Yakker (stay warm up there!)

I find them to is the reason I ask. I don't post everything I find. Thank you

I started another thread about those quartzite tools. I found some info on them. Feel free to join in!

Thanks for sharing with us Canadian artifacts!

That's a nice assemblage! They sure are similar in style to what we have down here. And I have several hammers made of the same material yours is as well, and boy are they similar too.

I too do all my point hunting in Manitoba, up in the Swan River area. I see by your pic's that you and I have very similar ones made from the same material. There are only a couple of broken ones I've kept that I like the look of, but mostly I leave them in the fields.
