Spanish ship Andalusia lost "off Jamaica" 1755 according to Wikipedia.

The Wikipedia entry references "Loyd's List", entry 2058

https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=hvd.32044105232813&view=1up&seq=396

The scanned (searchable text) book lists financial doings and at the end of each entry are some paragraphs of news from sea captains, what ships they saw or communicated with, where and when, and notable events of the voyage, like being boarded.

Yep, as in Cuba is 'off Jamaica' :) That said, the Lloyd's List entry is very brief, just a sentence really, and while "Jamaica" would likely be familiar to readers of the time likely "Cayman Brae", or what ever it was called at the time might not have been, and the information may have been presented in this way... but indeed, it is a fair distance. Searching the date that came up but little else. Spanish coins could come from ships of any flag of the time as well so pretty thin soup...
